Cruise Through History is a collection of short stories grouped by the sequence of many popular cruise itineraries, rather than by country, or period of history.

TRYON, NORTH CAROLINA, November 18, 2014, Cruises are not only a great way to get some rest and relaxation, but a chance to learn about the historical significance of the destinations at the same time. Noted Author and Lecturer, Sherry Hutt, has been educating people about the countries they are visiting for quite some time. She decided to publish a 14 book series entitled: “Cruise Through History”, and has published the first book called: “Itinerary 1”, London to Rome – Along the Coasts of France, Iberia, and Northern Italy. The stories in this itinerary were selected for their entertainment value, as well as a connection to sights the traveler may visit.

Whether enjoyed as a history book, or read by the traveler port-to-port as their itinerary unfolds, the characters in the stories may become new friends. They are assembled here as a Cruise Through History to add meaning and delight to travels. The ports discussed in Itinerary 1 are: London, Bayeux, Biarritz, La Coruna, Oporto-Lisbon, Seville,Valencia, Barcelona, Marseille, Nice, Pisa and Rome. Readers will find new information on the Lost City of Atlantis and some facts about how Plato, Heinrich Himmler, Pharaoh Necco, Helen Blatvasky, and more, all had a fascination with the topic.

There is no attempt to tell the full story of a port-city. The stories give reasons to linger in port. They will vary in era from port to port, across three millennium of human habitation of Western Europe.

Sherry Hutt has been traveling the world for over twenty-five years, collecting stories of characters throughout history and taking pictures of the places where they lived. While a judge, law professor, and federal prosecutor, she trained archaeologists, law enforcement, and attorneys on Heritage Protection cases. From 2004 to 2014, she advised the Bush and Obama White Houses as head of a national repatriation program in Washington, DC. Author of books and articles on Heritage Law and economics, founder of an organization of preservation lawyers, and she has been honored by scientific organizations.
