Elance.com Blocking Freelancer’s Accounts Without Explanation
Elance is even blocking some Freelancer’s from withdrawing their funds.
PHUKET, THAILAND, April 1, 2015, Imagine going to work one day, and the door is locked. This is what is happening to many Freelancers on the nations largest Freelance Online Platform. Steve Stanley is a Freelance writer on Elance.com, with over 570 completed jobs and a 4.9 Feedback Score out of 5.0. He makes money for Elance, and he makes his living with Elance.
About 2 weeks ago, he found himself unable to navigate their website to bid on jobs, or even withdraw funds from completed jobs. He has no disputes with any clients, and there is no reason why he should not be able to get his hands on his funds amounting to over $400.00. When he submitted a Ticket to find out what happened, he got no response. Several Tickets later and after posting to the Elance Facebook page, still no response.
According to the comments on Elance’s Facebook page, other Freelancers are being treated the same way, some for over a month. Imaging not being able to withdraw your money from your bank account. Steve has these comments: “I don’t know what happened to Elance, they used to be very responsive. Now I am blocked from doing any business, and all without an explanation. I do not have a clue what I might have done to be treated in such a way. They do not even have the courtesy to let me know what I did so I can correct whatever the problem is. I need my money to live. This is a horrible situation.”
