Doctors Filmed in Documentary – “The Marshall Plan” – Predict America’s Deadly Heart Attack Armageddon in 2030 – Reveal the Healing Powers of Foods
Leading medical experts have gone on the record in the United States to back a hard hitting health emergency documentary entitled “The Marshall Plan – Solving America’s Health Crisis.” The movie is based on an actual true story about how diet became a miraculous cancer cure for a Mayor in Texas, and how wellbeing spread throughout the town.
Zurich, Switzerland, March 12, 2016. Today alone, 2,200 Americans will die of cardiovascular disease. This daunting fact comes from The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). By 2030, every third American will die of a heart attack. We are just 14 years away from a health catastrophe. In addition, numbers around the world have more than doubled since 1980, almost 2 billion people are overweight and 600 million people are classified as obese. So it’s hardly surprising that people pledged money to support the making of this gripping film by a Swiss production company named Hofmann Media.
The city of Marshall, Texas, U.S.A., officially has a population of 23,523. However, the city is famous for being located in a region that carries the infamous nickname, “The Stroke Belt.” “The Marshall Plan” tells the inspiring story of a powerful seed that was planted deep in the psyche of locals by former Mayor Edward N. Smith III, (better known as Ed Smith) and his wife Amanda. Ed Smith was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008. Early on he chose to abandon the conventional medical treatment route, instead adopting a whole foods plant-based diet regime under medical supervision. With the result, doctors afterward declared him cancer free. His health restored, the Smiths embarked on a mission to help their town and community adopt a healthier lifestyle based on plant foods. News of his medical transformation soon spread worldwide when The New York Times published an article featuring Ed and Amanda Smith on January 25, 2014.
As luck would have it, in Europe, movie director Caroline Hofmann read the same story and was inspired to share a compelling message showcasing her expertise on an international stage through the persuasive medium of film. She and her team followed formerly unwell, sick and medically reliant citizens of Marshall as they completely transformed their health and quality of life by finally choosing foods that work for them, and not against them, instead of just continually treating the symptoms and not the root causes with a never ending stream of more and more drugs. So above all, the movie carries a truly inspiring message: “We can all take our health into our own hands.”, asserted Caroline Hofmann.
The Marshall Plan is a blockbuster of a documentary that empowers people with the knowledge to change their lives from sickness to health. On the subject of animal source foods and health problems there is an overwhelming amount of credible data in the public domain, and a host of registered medical professionals were happy to be part of the project, including: Dr. Neal Barnard, President of The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Dr. Michael Klaper, Dr. Joel K. Kahn, cardiologist, and Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Professor Emeritus at Cornell University and author of “The China Study”.
The film’s executive producer, Roland Boeni, a practicing M.D. in Zurich, is quoted as saying: “It’s shocking to discover America’s biggest killers are heart disease and cancer. On the other hand, paleoanthropology findings and a look at our closest relatives, the great apes, indicate that the human body was not created to thrive on a carnivorous diet. Over time, we have only slowly and partly been able to adapt to eating animals and animal food. The huge amounts of animals and animal foods an average person in a developed and emerging country consumes has lead to today’s health crisis.”
During a recent interview, director and co-producer Caroline Hofmann made these comments: “People are so bombarded on a daily base about high-tech and pharmaceutical treatments that are promoted by mainstream medicine, that the all natural approach is sidelined. The goal of this movie is not only to inspire people to make a change for the better, but to also redefine what we’ve been conditioned to consider‚ ‘healthy‘.”
Meanwhile, back in Marshall, Ed and Amanda Smith assembled a 600 strong army of health volunteers that came together under their umbrella group and non-profit named ‘Get Healthy Marshall.‘ “Hopefully, in 10 years people will look at the meat and dairy industry in the same way as they look at the tobacco industry today,” commented Ed Smith.
