New sign system for interior and exterior applications is low in cost and high in performance. Tackles all of the challenges to signage longevity.

Tempe, Arizona, September 26, 2016, Exterior signs have always been subject to differing types of degradation due to local weather conditions. Sure, an exterior sign can be built to withstand almost every type of weather assault, but the cost would be prohibitive. The idea is to come up with a cost effective way to make a sign that will stand-up to the challenges of inclement weather and not fade away from UV Light Rays. Windigo Signs steps up to the challenge with the release of their “Soft Signs” Series utilizing patent pending durable molded plastic components and special fabric treated for Dye Sublimation printing. This is an unbeatable combination for both interior and exterior signage and is Made In America.

Windigo’s development of key signage parts enables a huge selection of sign types. There are four plastic component parts: the corner, straight, base and live hinge parts. These parts allow for unlimited sign creations. They easily fit into one another allowing many widths and heights. The live hinge allows wind forces to load up on the sign and gently turn, releasing the pressure from the sign and coming back to center thus protecting the sign frame, graphic and light pole or sign base.

This method of fabrication yields a sign that is easy to assemble on-site and lightweight for shipping. Stress on the sign face and frame is minimized by the ingenious “Live Hinge” system. The sign system is designed for the latest sign industry trend which is “soft signs”. Other types of tension fabrics fade quickly and do not offer the super vibrant graphics that have become a hallmark of Windigo’s stretch fabric soft signs. The big bonus is that they fold up in a small package without wrinkles and are inserted in the sign box saving again on shipping and storage.

The objective of signage is to attract people’s eyes via sharp, bright and colorful graphics. The highest resolution that can be found for this purpose is a form of commercial color printing called Dye Sublimation Printing. This type of printing is a digital printing technology using full color artwork that works with polyester and polymer-coated substrates. The process uses the science of sublimation, in which heat and pressure are applied to a solid, turning it into a gas through an endothermic (heat producing) reaction without passing through the liquid phase.

Windigo’s dye sub sign faces are ideal for many types of signage. The finished products do exactly what they were intended to do: Attract the attention of passerbys with crisp, vibrant color graphics that are easily readable from a distance. Signage companies are discovering that Windigo’s signage system is perfect for: Exterior Signage including Light Pole Signs, Sidewalk Signs, Ground Signs, Real Estate Signs, Under Canopy Signs, and Post & Panel Signs. Interior Sign applications include Wall Signs, Free Standing Floor Signs, and Ceiling Mounted Signs.
