D’BRIS shoes are the ultimate in sustainability. D’BRIS’ founders were sick of  seeing plastic waste in the ocean and believed products like D’BRIS need to be made more accessible to help raise awareness about environmental problems.

Copenhagen, Denmark, September 2, 2020, Sustainability and going green have become a popular mantra of those folks concerned with the environment. It is no secret that the oceans and beaches are inundated with all sorts of plastic trash, from water bottles to tires. One way to lessen the amount of plastic trash is to use it for products, thus giving it some value.

This is exactly what D’BRIS has done with their brilliant idea of making shoes from plastic trash. One thing for sure, they will never run out of raw material. The idea behind their shoes is to keep the environmental footprint as small as possible. However, they don’t compromise on comfort, style or durability.

The majority of the outer soles are made from car tires, which is complemented with a mix of natural rubber and recycled rubber scraps. The upper canvas is made from high-quality polyester yarn made from 100% recycled post-consumer plastic. Between 5-10% of this is captured directly from the oceans and beaches by local fishermen and NGOs.

On the inside, they have added cotton to increase the comfort of the shoe. The cotton is 50% recycled and the other 50% is certified organic cotton. Same thing with the laces. The insoles are made from PU, EVA, and cork, all recycled scraps from the factory. D’BRIS shoes help preserve natural resources and keep the oceans cleaner.

Miguel Blanco is a pro-surfer and environmentalist from Portugal, who is throwing his weight behind D’BRIS Shoes. During a recent press event, Miguel made these comments, “We live in an era where people just buy and sell and products are getting cheaper. When you live like this you lose your consciousness. D’BRIS helps transform bad habits into a good one.”

D’BRIS has partnered with a manufacturer in Spain that has made shoes for more than half a century. The factory is at the forefront when it comes to sustainability using solar power and recycling leftover materials. Most materials are also sourced close by in Spain. For D’BRIS, it was vital that all our partners/suppliers in our supply chain shared the same principles as themselves when it comes to working conditions, fair wages, and time off to enjoy life outside of work.

The D’BRIS Kickstarter Campaign is live right now. Imagine being part of a whole new dynamic in sustainability and cleaning up plastic trash through manufacturing shoes. Great Perks await those who take-action now and become part of the future of reversing plastic pollution.
