Lauren McDonald Announces Release of Her Much Anticipated Young Adult Book on Coding For Children
For every letter in the alphabet, there is a word that is related to coding. There is also a description of the word in a concise paragraph. This book is a primer for children who are interested in learning more about coding and going into Computer Science.
Palo Alto, California, January 31, 2023, There are thousands of books published every year for young adults and children. Once in a while, a book is published that can send a child or young adult on a trajectory to success. Lauren’s new book, The Coding Alphabet is just such a book. It is concise and to the point.
When young folks think about computers and coding, it can be very intimidating because they do not understand all of the computer and coding jargon. What Lauren did was to take the most important computer and coding words and link them to the alphabet. This may sound simplistic, but it delivers great clarity to the young minds considering the field.

About The Author:
Lauren McDonald is a 14 years old and currently in the 9th grade. She attends Castilleja School in Palo Alto which is an all-girls school. Some of her hobbies include coding, playing the piano, and embroidering. She has been coding since 2017 and is proficient in Python, Swift, and JavaScript.
Lauren’s parents are not in the tech industry so when she started learning about coding she had to research coding definitions on her own because the first step to learning any language is definitions. She would like to see more girls interested in STEM.

She has embroidered clothing and tote bags for herself, family, and friends.
