WoodMafia takes aim at the oldest tree in the world. Wood will be used from the mighty “Old Tjikko”, which at 9,550 years old is the oldest tree in the world.

Melbourne, Australia, May 12, 2016, The world of rare collectable wooden watches is about to welcome the rarest of all wooden watches on the entire planet. WoodMafia’s recent announcement has created quite a buzz in the world of rare collectibles. It is their source of wood that has garnered worldwide attention. They are finalizing arrangements with officials from Sweden to take down the oldest tree in the world. Known as “Old Tjikko”, this Spruce Tree has been living for 9,550 years.

WoodMafia plans on using the wood to produce 500 custom watches. Each watch is a one-of-a-kind wooden watch with premium quality Swiss Watch Movements. In keeping with WoodMafia’s environment first philosophy, for every watch sold 100 trees will be planted. That amounts to a whopping 50,000 freshly planted trees. This is an unprecedented program of sustainability that was begun when WoodMafia first began operations.

According to a company spokesperson: “We started selling Woodmafia’s wooden watches to break free from our corporate jobs, and ultimately to reach our goal of feeding ourselves. Since then, WoodMafia’s vision and impact has grown, we now support wood plantations all around the world. We started with a goal of planting 1,500 trees within our first year, but we smashed this goal with over 10,000 trees planted in our first year. We are now making plans to plant over 100,000 trees in the next 18-24 months.”

Customer Testimonials tell the story. Take a look at what Sam Perry, a Verified Purchaser and an Environmental Specialist, had to say: “I absolutely love the environmentally sustainable belief the team at WoodMafia have. Not only are their products made with the highest quality recycled wood, they also make me feel great because I know every purchase is helping the environment. I support WoodMafia 100%.”
